CURRICULUM
The Architecture Program comprises 196 mandatory credits and 18 elective credits. This structure provides students with comprehensive knowledge across related areas and the opportunity to pursue one or more specialist certifications.
SPECIALIST CERTIFICATIONS
This Specialist Certification provides students with knowledge in the history and research of architecture, as well as in the conservation, restoration, and valuation of built heritage through various types of interventions.
This Specialist Certification provides students with the essential knowledge to analyze, diagnose, and develop proposals for urban areas, focusing on environmental sustainability.
This Specialist Certification provides students with up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of materials and construction processes, as well as cost estimation, measurement, and budgeting for building projects. It is designed to prepare experts capable of efficiently managing, monitoring, and executing construction projects by applying best practices and advanced technologies.
RIBA INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION
The Architecture Program at Universidad de Lima is the only one in Peru to hold double accreditation from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). This dual recognition endorses to the program's compliance with international standards in both its curriculum and the qualification process for obtaining the professional title. In this regard, Universidad de Lima joins a prestigious group of world-class universities that hold RIBA international accreditation.
RIBA is a global British professional membership body that promotes excellence in architecture. It is responsible for evaluating and accrediting architecture programs worldwide. Through its rigorous on-site assessments, RIBA ensures that programs meet the highest international quality standards. Moreover, RIBA accreditation reflects excellence in academic maturity, adaptability, relevance, integrity, teaching and research quality, and the profession's social commitment.

Agreements
CONSORTIUM OF UNIVERSITIES
It is a non-profit civil association comprising Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Universidad del Pacífico, Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, and Universidad de Lima. This partnership enables students from these four universities to access shared academic and institutional services, facilities, validated courses, and credit equivalency for subjects completed at any of the member universities.
Optional Second International Bachelor's Degree
Universidad de Lima offers students the opportunity to develop in global environments, enhance their networking, and live an international experience through the optional second international bachelor’s degree programs.
IE University
Aimed at graduates of the Architecture Program. To obtain this degree, they must complete one academic semester at this institution. This additional qualification also grants access to the qualifying master’s program, which enables professional practice in Spain and across the European Union.

University of London
Thanks to the agreement between Universidad de Lima and University of London (UOL), internationally recognized for its high academic standards, students can obtain a second international bachelor’s degree without leaving the country: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. This program is available to students from all undergraduate programs at Universidad de Lima.

UNESCO CHAIR
The Architecture Program at Universidad de Lima has been awarded the UNESCO Chair "Heritage, Cities and Landscapes." This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and focuses on promoting awareness of architectural heritage and cultural landscapes, conducting research on contemporary urban challenges, and documenting immovable cultural assets with the goal of identifying new cultural landscapes.
The UNESCO Chair fosters the creation of an integrated network of academia, cooperation institutions, researchers, and decision-makers to contribute to the sustainable development of our city, the preservation of architectural heritage, and the revaluation of cultural landscapes. Another key aspect is the establishment of an urban laboratory designed to promote dialogue with civil society and to strengthen partnerships with international universities and other UNESCO Chairs.
Established in 1992 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the UNESCO Chairs Program promotes the advancement of research, training, and higher education through networking, knowledge exchange, and interuniversity collaboration.

PUBLICATIONS
Limaq promotes and disseminates research and critical reflection on architecture and urban studies. This biannual journal is aimed at both the academic community and industry professionals. Each issue focuses on a specific theme selected by a guest editor. Contributions come from national and international scholars, as well as professors and students from Universidad de Lima. Committed to the present and future of our city, Limaq addresses key topics that help us understand urban reality and propose effective solutions to the country’s specific challenges.
The Architecture Program of Universidad de Lima, through the Architecture Collection, highlights the professional legacy of important Peruvian architecture representatives.
Emilio Soyer Nash. Habitar el tiempo, construir el lugar
Year of publication: 2024
Thanks to the donation of the Emilio Soyer Nash archive to Universidad de Lima, it has been possible to conduct an in-depth study of over fifty years of his professional career. The result is a collection of essays that comprise the first part of this book, along with a project dossier that includes descriptive reports written by the architect himself, a photographic record of his works by Fernando La Rosa and José Casals, and reflections from professors of the School of Architecture at Universidad de Lima. The dossier is enriched with stock imagery and digitally redrawn planimetry.
José García Bryce: Los goces de la memoria

The Architecture Program of Universidad de Lima publishes this fifth volume of the Architecture Collection to highlight the work of distinguished figures in Peruvian architecture. This issue is unique, as it departs from the content structure of previous editions. The reason lies in the fact that Architect José García Bryce not only developed significant architectural projects but also created a theoretical and historiographical body of work that has guided many architects in their roles as planners, professors, and researchers.
Arana Orrego Torres: Historia de un emprendimiento
Year of publication: 2017
AOT is not just an acronym of Peruvian contemporary architecture. For over 40 years, it was probably the most organized architecture firm in Peru. Its work includes major projects such as the Jorge Chávez International Airport, the Química Suiza building, and the IBM headquarters, among other remarkable constructions featured in this book.
Mario Bianco: El espacio moderno en el Perú

Following the Architecture Program's commitment to rediscovering and valuing 21st-century Peruvian architecture, the third issue of the Architecture Collection presents the work of Italian architect Mario Bianco during his three-year stay in Peru. Like many other Italian migrants, Bianco contributed to the country's cultural consolidation in the 20th century and marked the beginning of the modern movement in Peru through remarkable projects such as the Departamento de Arquitectura, the Casa D'Onofrio, and the Hotel Savoy.
Walter Weberhofer y el proyecto moderno en el Perú

With the purpose of disseminating the work of Walter Weberhofer (1923–2002)—recognized as one of the most outstanding figures of modern Peruvian architecture—the Architecture Program of Universidad de Lima publishes this second volume of the Architecture Collection. Its main objective is to showcase the comprehensive work of architects, theorists, and critics, along with contributions from Ulima professors and students.
Héctor Velarde: arquitecto y humanista

Héctor Velarde is an iconic figure in the history of Peruvian architecture and a key reference for the Architecture Program of Universidad de Lima. His legacy has taken shape and gained strength in a remarkably short time through courses, academic presentations, and institutional events.

Catálogo Arquitectura Movimiento Moderno Perú

Historia de los pueblos de indios de Cusco y Apurímac

Authors: Graciela María Viñuales and Ramón Gutiérrez
After an extensive journey through the history and geography of cities, towns, and villages—as well as their own experiences in Cusco and Apurímac in the late 1970s—the authors, Argentine architects and historians, present this book featuring descriptions and reflections on the artistic expressions of the Hispanic-Andean culture of the local populations. The research also involved the collaboration of archaeologists and anthropologists.
Héctor Velarde

In this book, the author presents a study on the work of Héctor Velarde (1898–1989), focusing on his architectural production through the graphic representation of numerous buildings he designed, as well as his legacy as a researcher of Peruvian architectural history. The publication also explores his biography, highlighting the intense professional and intellectual activity that continues to inspire future generations—both within the field of construction and among those who value Peru's diverse cultural expressions.

ANNUAL ARCHITECTURE EXHIBITION
The School of Architecture showcases the most outstanding projects developed throughout the year by its students and professors. ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN AREA
The academic area of Architectural Design comprises the Architecture Project courses and is structured into basic workshops (semesters I and II), vertical workshops (semesters III to IX), and the thesis workshop (semester X). It serves as the backbone of the program and provides a space for synthesis within the teaching–learning process. The Architecture Project academic area includes architectural design courses from semesters I through X.

The School of Architecture of Universidad de Lima participated in the first COIL of the Foro América, together with other universities from Latin America and Europe, held in 2024.
The eight participating institutions addressed issues such as depopulation and sustainability. At Ulima, the Regional and Urban Analysis course focused on the Chillón River basin. The featured project was developed by Claudia Chauca, Camila Forero, Marcos Franco, Arianna Fuentes-Dávila, and Gustavo Gutiérrez.
