The civil engineer graduated from the University of Lima stands out for its comprehensive approach and innovative capacity to solve problems in the construction sector. With a solid background in science, engineering, research and management, along with a collaborative and multidisciplinary perspective, the graduated uses Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to manage infrastructure projects in an efficient and sustainable manner at all stages of the asset's life cycle.

Its commitment to excellence is reflected in the ability to consider technical, global and social aspects in the design and implementation of projects, prioritizing the positive impact on the community.

 

Student Outcomes (SO) describe the competencies that a Civil Engineering student develops during their academic training. Below are each of the skills:

  1. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
  2. An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
  3. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  4. An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
  5. An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
  6. An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
  7. An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.

The Program Educational Objectives (PEO) describe the achievements that a professional in civil engineering must develop in their professional performance, which have been defined taking into account the opinions and insights of employers, graduates, teachers and students.

The Civil Engineering professional from the University of Lima achieves the following educational objectives:

  1. Demonstrates technical competencies for planning, analysis, design, construction, supervision, operation and maintenance of infrastructure.
  2. Possesses competencies in project management, collaborative work and integration of information and communication technologies to provide valid, creative, innovative and sustainable technical answers for the efficient management of infrastructure projects.
  3. Exercises leadership and is able to communicate effectively in multidisciplinary teams during the integral management of infrastructure projects.

Nomination by email

The home university must nominate students by sending an email to uce_intecambio@ulima.edu.pe. including the student’s full name, email address, currently attending school, and the semester they plan to attend.

Application via Mobility Online

Each student will receive a link to apply through the Mobility Online platform. Once there, the student must upload the documents listed below.

03

Letter of Acceptance

This will be submitted within 15 days after receiving the complete application documents.

04

Visa Process

Students must upload the following documents to the Mobility Online platform at least 50 days before their arrival to Lima: air ticket (round trip), accommodation address in Lima, international health insurance, and statement of solvency to travel to Peru.

05

Enrollment

Students will receive an email with enrollment instructions three weeks before the beginning of classes.

CREDIT SYSTEM

One Ulima credit is equivalent to one hour of theoretical class per week throughout the semester or two hours of practical classes per week. The semester has 14 weeks of classes. Courses may carry between 2 and 4, credits depending on their level of difficulty. The Ulima credit is different from an ECTS credit. Some European partners use this equivalence: 1 Ulima credit = 1.5 ECTS.

GRADING SYSTEM

The grading system ranges from 0 to 20; any grade under 11 is considered a failing grade.

Course evaluations are conducted throughout the semester (from week 1 to week 15 of classes).

The International Mobility Office will support students in selecting their courses during the weeks leading up to the enrollment process. Students are allowed to make changes in their registration (add, change, or drop courses) only until the first week of classes.

While on-campus housing is not available at Universidad de Lima, we provide a comprehensive list of accommodation options to help students find a suitable place to stay. Our team is also available to offer guidance and support throughout the process.

AIRPORT PICKUP SERVICE

Free airport pickup service is provided for the arrival day of students. We recommend to ask for this service at least two (2) weeks before the arrival date.

PALS PROGRAM

At Universidad de Lima, each international student is paired with a dedicated PALS partner to ensure a seamless exchange experience. From cultural immersion to academic guidance, your PALS partner will be there to support you every step of the way. The program includes assistance with official course registration and personalized guidance on using the Ulima App and Blackboard platform. The program's objectives are:

  1. Help exchange students adjust to academic life and the Ulima campus
  2. Practice a foreign language (both students)
  3. Get to know new people, their languages, customs, culture, etc.
