"We Did It Thanks to Everyone’s Efforts," Says Responde Ulima Director
Universidad de Lima has earned the prestigious MetaRed S Commitment Seal for integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into its culture and operations.
"This new international recognition highlights our collective efforts and inspires us to continue building a university committed to society and the planet," said Ronny Fischer, Director of the Sustainability Center (Responde Ulima), emphasizing the active participation of students, faculty, and administrative staff. "We did it thanks to everyone's efforts," he added.
Fischer also highlighted Ulima's long-standing commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. The University uses 100% renewable energy on campus, continuously monitors its carbon footprint, and has buildings with green certifications. Students can also participate in initiatives such as bicycle programs, preferred parking for carpoolers and low-emission vehicles, social and environmental volunteer programs, and scholarship opportunities.
MetaRed, a network established by Fundación Universia, brings together more than 1,700 higher education institutions across 18 Ibero-American countries.
