To request an introduction letter for a pre-professional or professional internship, check the instructions here.

Note: To obtain a letter for a pre-professional internship, you must be currently enrolled as a student.

Students in all academic programs must complete six months of internship experience, either continuously or in periods of at least two months (60 consecutive days).

The exception is Psychology, which requires 10 months (300 consecutive days) or two five-month periods (150 consecutive days each) corresponding to Internship I and Internship II.

Each school establishes the minimum academic requirements for internship registration.
Students in Management, Economics, International Business, Marketing, Law, Industrial Engineering, and Architecture must have completed the sixth academic level.

Additional requirements include:

• Accounting and Finance, Systems Engineering, and Civil Engineering: completion of the fifth academic level.
• Communication: completion of 100 credits.
• Psychology: completion of the tenth academic level.

Nota: En el caso de la Carrera de Derecho, es necesario contar con 18 meses de prácticas para obtener el título.

For all programs, students may register internship periods of at least two consecutive months per employer and must accumulate a minimum of six months to satisfy the bachelor's degree requirement.

For the Psychology Program, students may register either two consecutive five-month periods or one consecutive ten-month period.

Note: Students in the Law Program must complete 18 months of internship experience to obtain their professional title diploma.

To register an internship:

1. Log in to Mi Ulima 
2. Select Procedures
3. Select Initial and Final Reports and Application Tracking
4. Select New Application and choose either Initial Report or Final Report, depending on your situation.

The Initial Report must be submitted within the first 30 days of the internship. Follow these steps:

8. Open Initial and Final Report Submission and Application Tracking
9. Select New Application 
10. Select Initial Report Approval Request, choose your academic program, and click Start Application

Complete the form with the duties assigned by your supervisor. Select Send to PYE and click Save.

Center for Employability, Professional Engagement, and Alumni will verify the report, and final approval will be issued by the corresponding school.

You can track the status of your application through Mi Ulima, Initial and Final Reports and Application Tracking.

To submit a final report, follow the instructions provided at the end of your internship period. Follow the steps detailed in this document. 

The company must prepare the internship agreement or training plan using the current official format. Official forms and formats for the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion:

Agreements are signed in the order received and processed within a maximum of five business days.

No. The internship agreement is a legal document that protects the intern, while the initial report is an academic requirement for obtaining a bachelor's degree.

The internship agreement protects students by guaranteeing minimum conditions, including:

• Financial support of no less than the current minimum wage for a 30-hour workweek.
• A maximum internship schedule of 30h ours per week.
• Fifteen days of leave after 12 months of service.
• Employer-provided insurance coverage.
• Every six months, an additional stipend equal to one-half of the monthly financial support.

Internships or employment experiences should be registered within the first 30 days. After that period, registration may only be backdated up to 30 days.

The internship area is assigned by the student's academic program based on the responsibilities described in the initial report.

2. Go to Procedures.
3. Select Internship Agreement and Training Plan Signature Request.
4. Click Start Application and complete the required information.

DUSAR can access your internship records once you have completed the academic term in which you finish your program.

Yes. You must hold graduate or bachelor's degree status. Professional internships may only be completed within 24 months of graduation, whether with a single employer or multiple employers. After that period, professional internships are no longer permitted.
