Research Ethics Committee

The Ethics Committee of the Scientific Research Institute of Universidad de Lima is the entity responsible for ensuring probity of management processes, methodological procedures and strategies for the dissemination of results related to the University’s research work.

The Committee’s function is based on the observance of human rights, national rules and codes of ethics of each discipline. Hence, it ensures moral fitness of researchers; respect for nature, life and health of the living beings involved in the methods used; and privacy rights and copyright protection concerning the dissemination of the information obtained.

The Ethics Committee has an advisory status, is convened to solve specific cases, and operates with complete autonomy and transparence.

It is composed of Ramón Alberto León Donayre, PhD in Psychology, Wilfredo Román Hernández Gorritti, PhD in Industrial Engineering, and Luz Gricelda Monge Talavera, PhD in Law.

Luz Monge Talavera

Lawyer from the Major National University of San Marcos. She holds a PhD in Law from the Paris II (Panthéon-Assas) University and a master’s degree in Business Law from the Paris 13 University. She has pursued a specialization course in Comparative Law at the Paris Institute of Comparative Law. She has been a member of the Research Ethics Committee of the National Institute of Children’s Health (INSN) (2010-2014), deputy defender for Women’s Rights in the Ombudsman’s Office (2006-2007), and advisor of the Attorney General’s Office. She has been professor at the Major National University of San Marcos, Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and Federico Villarreal National University. She is currently professor at Universidad de Lima and San Ignacio de Loyola University. Among her publications are «¿El nacimiento no deseado podría constituir un daño indemnizable? Ramón León Donayre

He holds a bachelor’s degree and a professional title in Psychology from the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University. He holds a PhD (magna cum laude) in Psychology from the University of Würzburg, Germany, and a PhD in Sciences with a major in Psychology from the Cayetano Heredia University. Former scholarship holder of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (1979-1983, 1999 and 2008) and Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (1990-1992, 2002, 2004 and 2006), both located in the Federal Republic of Germany. He has held a postdoctoral position at the University of Munich (1987-1988) and University of Passau (1990-1992). He has been head of the Psychology Service of the «Honorio Delgado-Hideyo Noguchi» National Institute of Mental Health. He is currently professor at Universidad de Lima and Ricardo Palma University. He has published several books and articles in national and international scientific journals, and is head of the Editorial Committee of Persona journal of Universidad de Lima.

Wilfredo Hernández Gorritti

He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Chile. He is a chemistry professor and researcher of the Technological Innovation: New Materials area of Universidad de Lima’s Faculty of Industrial Engineering. He has published several scientific articles in national, international and indexed journals. Since 2006, he has been researching on new bio-organic and bio-inorganic materials with a view to preparing, characterizing and assessing in vitro antitumor activity of new chemical compounds. He has been coordinator of the Master of Chemistry Program in the graduate and minor sections of the National University of Engineering’s Faculty of Sciences. He is currently professor of the Doctoral Program of Chemistry at the Major National University of San Marcos’ Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
