Civil engineers from Universidad de Lima have a solid training in mathematics and engineering sciences that allow them to respond coherently and promptly to the challenges posed by the design, construction, supervision and maintenance of any type of infrastructures.

Moreover, our civil engineers have specific abilities and skills such as the capacity to communicate, both orally and in writing, work as a team, and exercise a productive leadership. Objectives

Below are the objectives of the Civil Engineering Undergraduate Program:

• Train professionals with solid knowledge in civil engineering who may work coherently and efficiently during the exercise of their professional careers. 
• Include, in their training, leadership skills to manage multidisciplinary working groups, for the design of both construction and infrastructure projects.
• Promote and develop scientific and technological research among community members.
• Contribute proactively to social responsibility activities in the areas of their competence, and to regional and national development.
• Promote a startup culture among students and graduates of this program.
• Train professionals with the criteria of sustainability and respect for the environment.
• Develop in our professionals an urban culture that positively impacts society.

Professional Skills

Civil engineers graduated from Universidad de Lima will be able to:

• Assume managerial and technical roles, and apply the fundamentals of management to civil engineering projects at all their phases.
• Create, design, analyze, plan, build, operate and maintain civil engineering projects, in a creative, innovative, efficient and effective manner, meeting all economic, social, ethical, political and sustainability needs.
• Behave ethically in professional life showing honesty, integrity and responsibility towards society and environment.
• Start up and innovate in the different areas of professional life, adapt to market requirements, and introduce changes and technological innovation into the specialization areas in civil engineering.
• Work in multidisciplinary teams showing leadership at any time, and using effective communication both orally and in writing.
• Use modern techniques and tools such as virtual and augmented reality, among others, in order to properly model and interpret results.
• Apply mathematical, basic science and engineering knowledge, in a rigorous and integrated manner, during the professional exercise of civil engineering.
• Develop scientific research projects that contribute to the needs and development of the country.
