Taekwondo

The name Taekwondo is derived from the Korean word tae meaning ‘foot’, kwon meaning ‘fist’, and do meaning ‘way’. Taekwondo is a self-defense sport, the principle of which is to never attack first and avoid hand-to-hand combat. It focuses on teaching to hit the vital points of the body. Each match comprises three 3-minute rounds with a 30-second interval between them.

The University taekwondo team takes part in the following activities: university tournaments and interclub tournaments.

Mayorazgo Sports Complex:

  • Tuesday and Thursday, from 9:30 h to 11:30 h.

Young Gi Academy (Pasaje El Molino 127, oficina 201, Centro Comercial Monterrico, Surco):

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 09:00 h to 10:00 h and from 20:00 h to 21:00 h.
  • Tuesday and Thursday, from 19:00 h to 20:30 h.
