Center for Technological Innovation

Fab Lab CIT

The Digital Fabrication Laboratory (Fab Lab) is part of the Technological Innovation Center (CIT) of the University of Lima. The Fab Lab CIT creates functional prototypes that solve a real problem of the society. It is capable of designing and making prototypes through printing and other technologies. Moreover, it provides services to students studying subjects such as Research Seminar and Technological Innovation Workshop. The intensive use of software design packages is an opportunity for the development of products; and the use of reverse engineering is one of the key strengths of this laboratory.

The Fab Lab CIT participates in research, problem solving, and development of new technologies for the benefit of the society. In cooperation with the Manufacturing and Electronics laboratories, the Fab Lab CIT makes projects with social profile and business projects come true such as:

  • Manufacture of plastic injection molds that constitute strengths for the implementation of projects with the industrial park of Peru
  • Precise carving of materials in three or more dimensions simultaneously
  • Development of electronic cards. SMD circuits are currently used to obtain quite compact development cards.
